Patrick Anthony Gallagher

Patrick Anthony Gallagher passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 74.  Patrick was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia.  He was born on August 31, 1948, to Anna Maguire Gallagher and Daniel Philip Gallagher.  Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Irene Bradley.  He is survived by brothers, Bernard (Kathleen) Gallagher and Daniel Gallagher and sisters, Katherine Langan, Mary Rose O’Neill, Joanne Gilmore and Dee Dee (Ken) Boyd and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends of all ages. 

Patrick graduated from La Salle College High School where he was a member of the cross country team and then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.  He earned his Ph.D. from Temple University.  Patrick’s professional experience includes consulting in the fields of risk management and business development and serving as an assistant professor at Temple University.  He also was a published business author.  He founded the Center for Research and Policy for Workers with Disabilities, LLC.  He dedicated years to community service and was a Member of Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Group for Christ Church, Philadelphia. 

Patrick enjoyed mentoring young people he taught and others who sought his help.  One of his many interests included theater where he created a one-act play.  He spent two years on Board of Directors for Walking Fish Theater. 

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on August 13th at 10 a.m. followed by a reception.  The service also may be live-streamed via christchurchphila.org.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Society.
