The following is for crimes reported for the period from Oct. 14 to Oct. 20. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Oct. 13. Arson. An offender entered the bathroom at ACME in  the 7700 block of Crittenden Street  and lit the trashcan on fire before fleeing,

Oct. 13. Shoplifting. An offender stole a shopping cart full of items from ACME in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. 

Oct. 15. Shoplifting. A man stole hairspray from CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown …

The following is for crimes reported for the period from Oct. 14 to Oct. 20. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

Oct. 13. Arson. An offender entered the bathroom at ACME in  the 7700 block of Crittenden Street  and lit the trashcan on fire before fleeing,

Oct. 13. Shoplifting. An offender stole a shopping cart full of items from ACME in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. 

Oct. 15. Shoplifting. A man stole hairspray from CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 15. Shoplifting. A woman carrying a dog stole paper towels from CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 16. Shoplifting. A man stole trash bags from CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 17. Vandalism/Theft. A man reported tools stolen from his work truck in the 7600 block of Crittenden Street.

Oct. 17. Shoplifting. Police arrested a man attempting to shoplift at ACME in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. 

Oct. 18. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Nissan Altima stolen in the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane. 

Oct. 19. Robbery. A complainant in the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue was approached by an offender who demanded his phone or else he’d “blow his head off” with an implied gun. The complainant ran off without giving him anything.  

Oct. 19. Theft. A woman reported a flower pot stolen from her driveway in the 7900 block of Cherokee Street. 

Mt. Airy

Oct. 6. Fraud. A man reported someone broke into his car and stole his wallet in the 500 block of Pelham Road. The man’s credit card was then used at Best Buy and Sonoco. 

Oct. 10. Theft. A man reported a package stolen from his porch in the 800 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue.

Oct. 11. Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts. A man reported his license plate stolen in the 800 block of Carpenter Lane. 

Oct. 11. Theft. A woman told police that she believes someone is entering her home and stealing items in the 400 block of East Allens Lane. 

Oct. 11. Theft. A woman reported a package stolen off her porch in the 200 block of Garrett Street. 

Oct. 14. Shoplifting. An unknown offender stole snacks from Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 14. Aggravated Assault. A woman in the 300 block of West Upsal Street confronted a complainant and her grandson about a flat tire on the woman’s car. The woman then pulled out a handgun and yelled “bitch imma shoot you” to the complainant. Not knowing anything about the flat tire, the complainant diffused the situation. 

Oct. 14. Shoplifting. An offender stole food items from a grocery store in the unit block of West Hortter Street. 

Oct. 14. Shoplifting. Juveniles stole multiple bottles of lemonade from ACME in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 15. Shoplifting. Three juveniles stole chips, juice and doughnuts from Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 16. Shoplifting. Nine juveniles stole snacks from Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 16. Shoplifting. Offenders stole various items from a drugstore in the 6500 block of Greene Street. 

Oct. 16. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his rental car stolen in the 7300 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 16. Motor Vehicle Theft. A man reported his Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen in the 300 block of East Mount Airy Avenue. 

Oct. 17. Aggravated Assault. A woman reported being hit in the head with an iron during an altercation with her sister in the 200 block of Rosemary Lane. 

Oct. 17. Theft. A man reported the rear passenger window of his car smashed and his wallet stolen in the 200 block of West Upsal Street. 

Oct. 18. Aggravated Assault. Police arrested a man who hit his neighbor over the head with a blunt object, leaving him bleeding in the 300 block of East Upsal Street. 

Oct. 19. Robbery. Complainants in the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue were approached by a man demanding “give me your stuff or I’m gonna shoot you” with an implied gun. He stole their phone and backpack.  

Oct. 20. Burglary. A woman reported that someone gained access to her home and stole two cell phones in the 300 block of Glen Echo Road.
