The following is for crimes reported from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6. This report is compiled from information provided by the 14th Police District. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Aug. 31. Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant stated that he last saw his 2022 Lexus ES 350 on Aug. 31 in the unit block of Woodale Avenue and when he returned to that location on Sept. 1, the vehicle was gone.

The following is for crimes reported from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6. This report is compiled from information provided by the 14th Police District. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

Aug. 31. Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant stated that he last saw his 2022 Lexus ES 350 on Aug. 31 in the unit block of Woodale Avenue and when he returned to that location on Sept. 1, the vehicle was gone.

Sept. 2. Theft: Shoplifting/Retail. Suspect took a half pint of Makers Mark, put it in his left pocket, paid for one small shot, then walked out of the state liquor store in the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue.

Sept. 4. Theft from Motor Vehicle. Complainant states his vehicle was left unlocked in the 400 block of West Springfield Avenue and his iPhone 16 Plus and credit cards were taken. There was no damage to the vehicle and the phone pinged to Germantown and Springfield avenues with negative results.

Sept. 4. Theft from Building. The property manager in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street was notified that packages were being tampered with. Upon inspection, various packages were found torn and open all over the mailroom, done by an unknown person. There was no CCTV footage.

Sept. 5. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property, Theft From Motor Vehicle. Complainant stated vehicle was broken into in the 400 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. Offender broke right rear passenger side window and stole a purse containing credit cards. Offender used the cards for approximately $800 in purchases.

Sept. 6. Credit Card/Automated Teller Machine Fraud, Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property, Theft From Motor Vehicle. Complainant states she parked her Ford Escape in the 400 block of Rex Avenue to go for a walk. Upon returning, she found her rear passenger side window was shattered and her purse containing her ID, debit card, gift cards and cash were taken. Her debit card was used at the Wawa at 6701 Ridge Ave. but was declined.

Mt. Airy

Aug. 28. Theft from Building. Complainant in the 200 block of West Upsal Street stated items were delivered to her mailroom and she never got them.

Aug. 30. Theft from Building. Complainant in the 6900 block of Germantown Avenue states her curling iron and wash clothes were stolen from her apartment.

Aug. 31. Theft: Shopping/Retail. Offender at ACME store in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue was found in possession of meatloaf, beef and Taylor Pork Roll. Suspect was arrested.

Sept. 1. Theft: Shopping/Retail. Complainant stated an offender came inside ACME store in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue and took items including gift bags, wine bags, garlic butter, lemon pepper, salmon and seafood. Suspect was arrested.

Sept. 2. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property, Theft From Motor Vehicle. Complainant parked her 2019 GMC Acadia in the 300 block of West Hortter Street on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. and when she returned the next day at 1:30 p.m., she found the driver’s side passenger window broken, and her work bag containing her permit to carry was stolen.

Sept. 2. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property, Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant’s neighbor in the unit block of West Upsal Street has camera footage of two males breaking window and attempting to steal his vehicle, a 2020 gray Kia Sorento.

Sept. 2. Theft. Complainant in the 1200 block of East Cliveden Street states their son stole their cellphone and keys. The cellphone was recovered but not the keys.

Sept. 3. Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant states their silver Lexus NX300 was stolen while parked in the unit block of Roumfort Road.

Sept. 4. Aggravated Assault. Complainant states he and offender had an argument at a home in the 300 block of Vernon Road and offender stabbed complainant in the back with a knife. Offender then fled with the knife. Complainant was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by medics with a laceration to the left center of his back.

Sept. 5. Burglary, Theft From Building, Trespass of Real Property. Complainant states that an unknown offender came inside a house in the unit block of East Upsal Street through a window and grabbed complainant’s construction tools. Complainant does construction work at that location.

Sept. 5. Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant stated he parked his 2020 gray Honda Accord outside his home in the 400 block of East Mt. Airy Avenue the previous night and woke up to find his vehicle was gone.

Sept. 5. Aggravated Assault. Complainant in the unit block of East Hortter Street stated that her daughter kicked in the back door of her home, punched her multiple times in the head and face, bit her left index finger, then ransacked the house, disarraying furniture, breaking multiple TVs and mirrors, and bent the windshield wipers on her Chevy Equinox. Suspect was arrested.

Sept. 6. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property, Motor Vehicle Theft. A 2018 Kia Forte was broken into through the rear passenger window and the steering wheel was broken in the 200 block of East Cliveden Street.
