The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from June 29 to July 7.
July 3. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 5:48 p.m. The manager for the Wine & Spirits stated an unknown man came into the store and left with six assorted bottles of alcohol that he did not pay for. The man was last seen walking north on Germantown Avenue. The items were valued at $150.
July 6. Theft on the 7800 block of Germantown Avenue. A man told police that he chained his bike outside the McDonald’s on Germantown Avenue. Then he went inside to purchase food. He told police he turned around and saw three young men aged 13-17 running off with his bike. The boys were wearing blue jeans and red t-shirts. Taken was one silver Gary Fisher mountain bike with “Tasohara” written on it. The bike is a 24 speed with extended cross bars and valued at $500.
July 7. Armed robbery on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street at approximately 12:42 p.m. Police responded to a robbery in process at the Sprint store. See story above.
