I went to the Chestnut Hill Hospital Emergency Room on Sunday, Oct. 22, because of a broken thumb from a freak accident the night before. Painful beyond belief! My wife and I got there at noon and left at 2:15 p.m. We never saw an M.D., but we saw a couple of nurses, an X-ray technician and a physician's assistant, among others. Every single staff person we met was smiling, respectful, polite and caring. 

I cannot say enough about the people there. Petey, a nurse, and Rachel Kent, the physician’s assistant, are the only names we got. They were wonderful. I just wish I had the other staffers' names. Dr. John Scanlon, medical director, whom we have met on other occasions, is also very special. 

We have lived 10 minutes away from Chestnut Hill Hospital for 52 years, so we have been there often for all kinds of things, from nose surgery, hip surgery, a broken wrist and a broken pelvis to Covid vaccinations. I had a not-so-good experience about 45 years ago, but that is ancient history. From numerous other visits, including our recent experience in the E.R., I would highly recommend it.
