Wyndmoor’s 103rd annual Memorial Day Parade, sponsored by the Arthur V. Savage American Legion Post 100, begins Monday at 9:30 a.m.
The parade, in honor of Veterans, will feature various vehicles as well as girl and boy scout troops.
After memorial services are concluded at Veterans Park, a Community Day celebration will follow on the lower ball field behind the park, with music, kid's rides and entertainment, free hot dogs, beer and soda. There will also be music and food at the American Legion Post for members.
Since our charter in 1919, our American Legion Post has been welcoming Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces.
Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Our Post provides the only Honor Guard in Springfield Township to attend the funerals of our departed comrades. It sends delegates to District and Department meetings to represent the veteran. It provides comfort to vets in homes and hospitals and those deployed as well as their immediate families.
