The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 8 to Oct. 15, 2023. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill:

Oct. 9 Robbery. A man reported that an unknown male stopped him, pointed a gun at him, and demanded his belongings while he was walking on the 200 block of West Evergreen Avenue. The offender stole $60.

Oct. 9 Shoplifting. Someone took cleaning products from the Staples Store on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and passed the point of sale without paying for them.

Oct. 10 Shoplifting. Complainant reports that someone took items from a store on the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue without paying for them. 

Oct. 11 Theft. A resident of the Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike reported that his cookies were missing.

Oct. 12 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that the window of their car in the unit block of Valley Green Road was smashed in and items including a bag were taken.

Oct. 12 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that the rear window of his white Subaru parked at the intersection of Germantown Pike and East Northwestern Avenue was smashed, a wallet was taken and his credit card was subsequently used to charge items worth $504.

Oct. 12 Theft. An offender took items from the CVS in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left without paying, according to a complainant.

Oct. 13 Theft. A woman at the Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike reported that $35 was missing from her jacket pocket.

Mt. Airy: 

Oct. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that an unknown offender stole their vehicle that was parked on the 6800 block of Stenton Avenue.

Oct. 9 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that after parking her vehicle on the 600 block of West Cliveden Street and returning to it hours later, she noticed that her rear passenger window was broken and her steering column was damaged.

Oct. 9 Aggravated Assault. A man reported that a male offender came to his residence on the 5500 block of Blakemore Street, opened his jacket, and flashed a green and black firearm.

Oct. 9 Theft from motor vehicle. An unknown offender broke the passenger side window of a woman’s vehicle parked on Park Line Drive and West Upsal Street and stole a bag of make-up.

Oct. 9 Shoplifting. Five juvenile males entered the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, took various items off of the shelves and left without paying.

Oct. 9 Theft. A woman reported that her packages were stolen from the front steps of her residence in the 6700 block of Bass Street, and stated that this has been an ongoing problem.

Oct. 9 Robbery. A woman reported that an offender who was in her home on the 6100 block of McCallum Street, entered her room to look for his jacket. When he couldn’t find it, he pulled out a firearm, took her iPhone and $50 in cash, and then fled the location.

Oct. 9 Carjacking. An unknown offender pointed a gun at a woman in her vehicle on the 500 block of Wellesley Road, told her to get out, and then fled the scene.

Oct. 9 Theft. A complainant stated that an offender came into a learning center on the 7500 block of Germantown Avenue and stole school supplies. The Offender was recently fired prior to the incident.

Oct. 9 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that the vehicle of her deceased ex-husband, parked on the 200 block of West Upsal Street, was stolen.

Oct. 10 Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts. Complainant on the 600 block of W. Kingsley Street reported that his catalytic converter was stolen.  

Oct. 10 Shoplifting. Someone grabbed items from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and passed the point of sale without paying for them.

Oct. 10 Shoplifting. Offender took items from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left without paying. 

Oct. 10 Theft. A complainant on the 300 block of Glen Echo Road that a TV and two phones were delivered to his front porch and then stolen. The theft was recorded on a ring camera

Oct. 10. Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts. A complainant on the 600 block of Naomi Street reports that his catalytic converter was stolen. 

Oct 10. Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts. A complainant on the 6200 block of Wissahickon Avenue reports that his catalytic converter was stolen. 

Oct. 10 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle parked on the 600 block of West Kingsley Street.

Oct. 11 Theft. A complainant reported that an offender who had previously stolen from the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue took snacks and soda without paying for them.

 Oct. 11 Theft A complainant told police that an offender took various items from a store in the unit block of West Hortter Street.

Oct. 13 Theft.  A complainant at an apartment building in the 200 block of Mt. Pleasant Avenue reported that four packages were stolen and the complainant has camera footage of the theft.

Oct. 14 Theft. Several young people took candy and chips from the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left without paying.

Oct. 14 Aggravated Assault. A man reported that an offender in the 300 block of Vernon Road pointed a firearm at him because the offender was not able to live with him.

Oct. 15 Theft. A man in the 900 block of East Hortter Street said his ex-girlfriend stole his phone and sent herself $5,323.18 across various digital banking platforms. The complainant has a video of the ex taking the phone with her saying “I took his phone and sent myself his whole paycheck.”
