The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and were reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

Sept. 26 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported having $7,000 worth of items stolen from his car while it was parked on the unit block of West Bells Mill Road. A window was smashed.

Sept. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported having a camera stolen from her car while it was parked near the corner of West Northwestern Avenue and Germantown Avenue. 

Sept. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported having multiple items, including her wallet and purse, stolen from her car while it was parked on the unit block of Valley Green Road. Her car window was smashed.

Sept. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported having his wallet stolen from his car while it was parked on the unit block of Valley Green Road. His car window was smashed.

Sept. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported having his laptop, glasses and house keys stolen from his car while it was parked near the corner of West Chestnut Hill Avenue and Seminole Street. His car window was smashed.

Sept. 29 Aggravated assault. A man suffered a laceration on his head after an offender threw a flashlight at him while inside his house, located on the 8000 block of Germantown Avenue.

Oct. 1 Theft. A woman reported her purse, which had been hanging from the back of her chair, being stolen from the Chestnut Hill Hotel, located on the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Mt. Airy

Jan. 1 Theft. A man who lives on the 6400 block of Chew Avenue reported that his double bass has not been returned for weeks after lending it out to somebody. This person hasn’t returned any of the man’s calls.

Aug. 28 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man reported receiving a red light ticket in the mail after having the license plate stolen from his car while it was parked on the 6600 block of Wayne Avenue. 

Sept. 24 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his vehicle going missing from the 400 block of Wellesley Road.

Sept. 25 Burglary. A man reported items having been stolen from a key-coded door inside a residence located on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Sept. 25 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the Sedgwick train station parking lot. 

Sept. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported her wallet being stolen from her car while it was parked on the 500 block of Wellesley Road. Her window was smashed.

Sept. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported having multiple items, including cash and a leather bag, stolen from her car while it was parked near the corner of Wissahickon Avenue and Kitchens Lane. Her car window was smashed.

Sept. 27 Burglary. A group of five or six males was captured on security cameras burglarizing and stealing approximately $10,000 worth of narcotics and medications from the CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, at approximately 3:15 a.m. An axe was left at the scene.

Sept. 28 Shoplifting. Security camera footage captured an offender stealing clothing and laundry pods from the Family Dollar, located on the 6500 block of Greene Street.

Sept. 28 Shoplifting. A complainant reported that a group of juveniles entered the Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, and stole food, drinks and candy.

Sept. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported her rock climbing equipment being stolen from her car while it was parked on the 500 block of West Ellet Street. Her window was smashed.

Sept. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a bag and cash stolen from their car while it was parked near the corner of Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. Their car window was smashed.

Sept. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported the first aid kit being stolen out of a school bus parked on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane. 

Sept. 30 Shoplifting. Security camera footage captured four offenders stealing two shopping carts worth of merchandise from the Family Dollar, located on the 6500 block of Greene Street.

Sept. 30 Theft. Security camera footage captured a package being stolen from a house on the 100 block of Meehan Avenue. 

Oct. 1 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her car being broken into on the 100 block of Carpenter Lane. The steering column had been tampered with and her window was broken. 

Oct. 1 Aggravated assault. A man was stabbed in the hand after a fight that occurred on the 600 block of West Cliveden Street.

Oct. 1 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her car being stolen from the 100 block of Carpenter Lane.
