The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Sept. 10  to Sept. 24 . (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill:

Sept. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that his vehicle, parked on Germantown Pike and Northwestern Avenue, was broken into and his iPhone, wallet, and multiple IDs were stolen.

Sept. 12 Theft from motor vehicle. A vehicle parked on Valley Green Road was broken into and credit cards, IDs, an iPhone, and cash were stolen

Sept. 12 Theft from motor vehicle. A vehicle parked on the 7800 block of Stenton Avenue was broken into and an iPad, AirPods, iPhone, charger, an ID, and a passport were stolen.

Sept. 14 Damage/vandalism of property. Two complainants reported that their vehicles were broken into on Valley Green Road, and one of them had their laptop stolen.

Sept. 14 Robbery. Two men broke into a woman’s house on the 7600 block of Ardleigh Street, held her up at gunpoint, and stole her firearm, cash, and jewelry.

Sept. 17 Shoplifting. Someone grabbed multiple items from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Sept. 17 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone smashed the rear passenger side window of a vehicle parked on Valley Green Road and stole a D5 Drone.

Sept. 20 Motor vehicle theft. A woman’s vehicle was stolen after she parked it outside of her apartment on the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue.

Sept. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone took credit cards from her vehicle parked on Valley Green Road.

Sept. 23 Theft. A woman reported that after she let a “friend” stay at her home, the person took off with a gold ring, cash, and a cell phone while she was asleep.

Sept. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone smashed the right rear window of a woman’s vehicle parked on West Bells Mill Road and stole her laptop.

Mt. Airy:

Sept. 10 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported that he parked his car on the 7500 block of Devon Street and it was gone when he returned, and broken glass was on the ground.

Sept. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone smashed the rear driver-side window of her vehicle parked on the 7300 block of Stenton Avenue and stole multiple items.

Sept. 10 Motor vehicle theft. A man’s truck was stolen from the 300 block of West Durham Street, the theft was captured on surveillance footage.

Sept. 11 Theft. A woman reported that her 7-year-old purse was stolen on the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue and later posted on social media.

Sept. 11 Motor vehicle theft. The rear passenger side window and steering column of a parked vehicle were damaged on the 6900 block of Ardleigh Street.

Sept. 11 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that after she heard the car alarm of her vehicle parked on the 6700 block of Blakemore Street go off, she went to investigate and noticed that the rear passenger window and steering column were damaged.

Sept. 12 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported their school backpack was stolen from the backseat of a vehicle parked on the 100 block of West Sharpnack Street. The theft was captured on video.

Sept. 13 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man noticed that all four tires of his vehicle parked on the 7100 block of Boyer Street were missing and that his car was sitting on cinder blocks.

Sept. 14 Motor vehicle theft. A woman’s parked vehicle was stolen from the 400 block of East Hortter Street.

Sept. 15 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that someone broke into their vehicle, which was parked on the 1000 block of East Sedgwick Street, and damaged the steering column in an attempt to steal the car.

Sept. 15 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that after parking her vehicle at the location of her son’s football game on the 1200 block of East Sedgwick Street, she returned to the spot and noticed that the car was gone.

Sept. 15 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone stole phone chargers, a jump starter and a leatherman tool from his vehicle parked on the 1000 block of West Cliveden Street.

Sept. 15 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone stole his wallet, bank cards, a checkbook, an iPad, a video camera, and a video game from his vehicle parked on the 400 block of West Ellet Street. 

Sept. 17 Theft. Someone stole a package off a couch on a porch on East Cliveden Street.

Sept. 18 Motor vehicle theft. A man broke the rear passenger window and steering column of a woman’s vehicle parked on the 600 block of East Phil Ellena Street. A witness showed the complainant a video of the incident.

Sept. 18 Shoplifting. A manager of the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue reported that someone took Red Bull and candy and left the store without paying.

Sept. 18 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that someone took their vehicle which was parked on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street without their permission.

Sept. 19 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported that her vehicle, parked on West Hortter Street, was stolen. She still has the key to the car.

Sept. 19 Shoplifting. Someone took face wash from the CVS on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive and left the store without paying.

Sept. 19 Shoplifting. A man took two bottles of Tequila from the Fine Wine and Good Spirits on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left without paying.

Sept. 19 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone broke the passenger side window of his vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane and stole his laptop and wallet.

Sept. 20 Aggravated assault. A woman reported that she was sprayed with Mace on the 100 block of East Phil Ellena Street after getting into an altercation.

Sept. 20 Theft. A woman reported that someone stole a package from her front porch on the 400 block of East Hortter Street, and ring camera footage shows the incident.

Sept. 20 Theft. An ex-employee used a key to enter a business on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, went into the safe, took around $3,200, and left. The incident was captured on surveillance footage.

Sept. 20 Carjacking. A man was approached by two armed individuals on East Hortter Street, who demanded the keys to his vehicle and drove off with the car.

Sept. 21 Carjacking. A man’s vehicle was stolen by three males on the 500 block of West Sedgwick Street. One of the perpetrators was armed, and they surrounded the car while the complainant was in it and told him to “give me the car.”

Sept. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone broke the rear passenger side window of a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane and stole AirPods, credit cards, and house keys.

Sept. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone broke the rear driver-side window of his vehicle parked on West Gowen Avenue and Germantown Avenue, and stole Bose headphones.

Sept. 22 Motor vehicle theft. Someone broke the passenger side window and steering column of a vehicle parked on the 800 block of East Upsal Street.

Sept. 23 Burglary. A woman reported that someone gained entry into her home on the 400 block of West Hortter Street and stole several necklaces and rings worth up to $5,000.

Sept. 24. Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported that someone smashed the driver-side window of their vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Kitchens Lane and stole their wallet.

Sept. 24 Shoplifting. Multiple perpetrators grabbed items from the CVS on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive and left without paying.

Sept. 24 Theft. A complainant reported that a package was stolen from their front porch on the 6700 block of Bass Street.
