Crime Report: One auto theft, one theft from auto and one theft

The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from July 30 to Aug. 5, 2017.

July 30. Auto theft on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue at approximately midnight. A man told police that he parked his car at approximately 12 a.m. When he returned at 9 a.m., his 2005 Malibu blue Chevy with license plate PA KBK-8210  was gone. At the report time, the police system was down for updates and the tow file could not be checked. The owner informed police that he still has the keys to the missing vehicle. The vehicle is valued at $1,500.

July 31. Theft on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 12:10 p.m. A man told police he left his iPhone 5S charging in a reception area. When he returned, he found the phone missing. The phone is valued at $100.

July 31. Auto theft on the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 9:15 p.m. A man told police that he parked his 2007 Honda black Accord and left his keys in the vehicle. When he returned to his car, it was gone. The 2007 Honda with PA license plate HJN-3644 is valued at $5,000.

Aug. 5. Theft from vehicle on the 700 block of Valley Green Road. The owner told police he parked his locked car in the Wissahickon Parking Lot. An unknown person shattered the front passenger window and removed his girlfriend's purse from the seat. The purse is valued at $500.

Summary: Three crimes –  one auto theft, one theft from auto and one theft
