The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is hosting an event that will offer tasty food while supporting wildlife.

“Vegan Valentine’s” is scheduled for Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are available at schuylkillcenter.org and are $40 for Schuylkill Center members, $50 for nonmembers.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is hosting an event that will offer tasty food while supporting wildlife.

“Vegan Valentine’s” is scheduled for Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are available at schuylkillcenter.org and are $40 for Schuylkill Center members, $50 for nonmembers.

The center is planning an experience that spotlights vegan food from Chef Alex Giel of La Llamita Vegana, a local maker of plant-based Peruvian delicacies. The evening will be spent tasting several of her offerings, paired with beverages, while patrons hear from the chef and the Schuylkill Center about the food, the importance of plant-based eating, and how people can best protect local wildlife.

La Llamita Vegana is a small-batch catering company focusing on food made with gluten-free and organic ingredients.

The Schuylkill Center is located at 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road in Upper Roxborough.
