Lyman R. Hanson, Jr., 101, of Fort Washington, PA passed away on February 23, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances (Repplier) Hanson.

Lyman was born in Fort Bragg, CA on June 1, 1924 to the late Lyman R., Sr. and Gladys (Fox) Hanson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Ensign. He was a Partner with the Accounting Firm, KPMG for 25 years until his retirement. After he retired, he and his daughter, Barbara Hanson-Markloff, opened a retail business in Chestnut Hill called The Post Light, which ran for 25 years.

He is survived by his children: Peter Hanson (Aimee) of Harleysville, PA, Barbara Hanson of Minnesott Beach, NC, David Hanson (Johanna) of Amersfoot, Netherlands, Sarah Ellis (Robert) of Erdenheim, PA, Geoff Hanson (Patti) of Simpsonville, SC; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on April 17, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting, 20 E. Mermaid Ln., Philadelphia, PA 19118.
