Sip for a cause at Bibliophile Winterfest Reception

Bibliophile Winterfest Reception, December 9, Mimi’s Café

Posted

It's the season of giving, eating, drinking and reading. We're partaking in all of the above in the name of the Chestnut Hill Library.

On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Friends of Chestnut Hill Library are holding a Bibliophile Winterfest Reception from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Mimi’s Café at 184 East Evergreen Ave. The outdoor fundraiser will feature live music, festive drinks, light appetizers and holiday raffles. Heat lamps will be on site for our guests’ comfort. There is a suggested donation of $50, and proceeds will fund priority projects for the Chestnut Hill Library.

This has been a busy year for the Friends of Chestnut Hill Library. We continued to support our community’s beloved library branch and impressive story telling garden just as many Friends volunteers have over the years. In addition to that, we opened a used bookstore to generate additional funds for the library and assembled an energetic group of volunteers to staff that endeavor and related popup events. We also managed to toss in some exciting community building events for book lovers, like our big book sale weekends and in-store author and book readings.

The cocktail reception, co-hosted by Vanessa Mullen, owner of Mimi's Cafe, corresponds with our winter appeal to raise $25,000 with help from you, and our amazing community of supporters. We'll share short remarks at 6 p.m. Stop by and hear about all the great work planned for 2022. We look forward to seeing many book lovers!
