In a nonleague match at Shipley School, the visitors led from the outset, steadily widening the gap before outscoring the Gators 8-1 in the last 15 minutes of the contest.
The 20-8 victory featured hat tricks by seniors Kass Magarity, Madigan Wallach and junior Maris Herghelegiu as SCH improved its overall record to 4-6 after starting out the season at 0-4.

A week earlier, the Blue Devils had fallen to the Quakers of Penn Charter, 14-1, but they’d played much better on April 7 against another Inter-Ac League rival, the Academy of Notre Dame. A 20-9 loss to the Irish left SCH with a 1-3 mark in league competition.
On April 9, Shipley’s Katie Gilbert and Maggie Wingerter got off the first two shots of the afternoon, and they were both saved by SCH sophomore goalie Hallie Lima. The Blue Devils got on the board with 7:18 remaining in the first quarter, when junior Abby Torday scored from the left side of the arc.
The score remained 1-0 until the last minute of the opening period, when senior Brae Powell and sophomore Devon Donato both found the net.
Donato also deposited the first goal of the second quarter, and Magarity made it 5-0 before Shipley got on the board. Emy Teitelbaum broke the ice for the home team with 9:09 remaining in the first half.
After that, the Gators kept pace with their guests the rest of the way until halftime arrived with SCH leading 8-4.
Seven minutes into the second half, SCH added another point to its lead with the score at 12-7, but some defensive lapses concerned head coach Liz Trojan and she called time out with 4:40 left in the third round.
The Devils became more vocal on defense, and with better communication they limited Shipley to one goal the rest of the game. The attack also picked up for the visitors, with several reserve players coming off the bench to score during the fourth quarter.
Donato and Powell each finished the game with two goals, as did senior Lily Spaeth. The other scorers were Torday, sophomore Riley Zlotkin, and freshmen Emma Carey, Ryan Corvasce and Emily Walder. Lima, the starting goalie, registered seven saves before giving over the cage to freshman Maryn Delp, who made two stops.
