Mt. Airy Community Development Corporation and community stakeholders unveiled a replica Liberty Bell at Lutheran Seminary Plaza (7301 Germantown Ave.) in Mt. Airy recently, along with Philadelphia250 benches and a bike rack. This installation is one of 22 artist-designed fiberglass bells installed in neighborhoods across the city through the Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (America250PA), the City of Philadelphia, and Mural Arts Philadelphia. The Mt. Airy bell was created by Parris Stancell and is titled “A Tapestry of Hidden History.”
