Oh, what a night! We’re still hearing rave reviews about the Black & White Gala & Auction. More than 200 people attended this fundraiser for the Chestnut Hill Community Association and Chestnut Hill Community Fund.
Those who attended had much to coo over – from the 1920s cars and red carpet paparazzi experience at the entrance to the beautifully decorated black and white feather and flowered table decor from Robertson’s and hilarious photo booth with props.
The event was a great success as a continuation of a beloved community tradition. While some people were disappointed that the Gala was not on the Avenue, as in previous years, others felt that the Philadelphia Cricket Club was a wonderful venue and a real step up from the discomforts of partying on cobblestone! The Black & White Gala Committee did a beautiful job of creating an evening to remember, and we were very pleased to hold the party in the classic and classy Philadelphia Cricket Club.
And this year, we added a fun way to celebrate the community by inviting some of community's Notable Locals, people whose accomplishments and contributions to Philadelphia make it a great place to live. The event netted approximately $12,000 for the community association.
Thanks for an amazing committee: Dawn Timmeney (Honorary Chair), Michala Costello, Alexis Dahlin, Ashley Hall, Art Howe, Lisa Howe, Kathie Meadows, Cecile Mihalich, Christopher Padova, Remy Pizzichini, Bob Rossman, Carole Tippett and Janet Gala.
A special thanks to the Philadelphia Cricket Club for making us welcome and feeding us well, to Robertson's Flowers for the beautiful decor, to Hat Covet for providing 1920's themed hats, and to Dad's Rye Whiskey for our signature drink, Bee's Knees.
