Patricia Johnson Leaming, 96, a longtime resident of Chestnut Hill, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 27th at Saint Joseph Villa. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and so much more.
Pat was born in Chestnut Hill Hospital on February 20, 1929, to Beatrice MacAllister Henkels and Col Harry P. Johnson. Raised primarily in Mount Airy and East Falls, attended Holy Cross grammar school, then Raven Hill Academy High School. After high school, Pat worked for John B. Kelly as Receptionist and Switchboard Operator.
In November 1951, Pat married Francis J (aka Bax) Leaming and moved to Woodale Road in 1952 where they raised their 10 children surrounded by wonderful neighbors.
Pat’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was devoted to God and an active member of Our Mother of Consolation Church and School, aiding with class trips, bake sales, transportation to sporting events, visiting the sick, liturgist, sacristan and, up until just a few years ago, a Eucharist Minister.
