Caroline Stutz, the sixth-grade homeroom teacher and upper-grade math teacher at Our Mother of Consolation Parish School, has been awarded a Teaching Tools grant. The grant, given by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), totals $3,000 over a three year period. This award will allow OMC Parish School to improve its educational offerings in the science, technology, engineering and math areas.
“We are very proud of Ms. Stutz, and this grant recognizes her talents as a teacher, particularly in the areas of science and math,” Bruce Hagy, principal of OMC Parish School, said. “We are thankful to the AFCEA for recognizing her talents as well.”
OMC is a Chestnut Hill Catholic school that offers education through pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. Children from a variety of surrounding areas attend the school.
Ms. Stutz was awarded the grant as part of AFCEA’s Teacher Scholarship program. The scholarship will support Stutz in her work in the subjects of science, technology, engineering and math.
Our Mother of Consolation Parish has made recent investments in technology. Their most notable venture has been the purchase of 50 iPads for classroom use.
“This grant will allow me to supplement the tools I am able to use here at OMC for teaching science and math,” Ms. Stutz said. “I will be able to invest in technology and educational tools to enhance what OMC already provides. I’m grateful to the AFCEA for this recognition.”
