Norwood-Fontbonne Academy’s technology department is hosting an “upcycling” drive to collect electronic equipment, in partnership with the electronic waste company Upcycle USA.

Upcycling differs from recycling in that it transforms discarded materials into new products, keeping them in their current form rather than breaking them down into raw materials.

Electronic equipment can be left on the back porch of the school’s Big House, under the roof, by 8 a.m. Monday, June 15. The school is located at 8891 Germantown Ave.

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy’s technology department is hosting an “upcycling” drive to collect electronic equipment, in partnership with the electronic waste company Upcycle USA.

Upcycling differs from recycling in that it transforms discarded materials into new products, keeping them in their current form rather than breaking them down into raw materials.

Electronic equipment can be left on the back porch of the school’s Big House, under the roof, by 8 a.m. Monday, June 15. The school is located at 8891 Germantown Ave.

All electronic equipment (ipads, desktops, laptops, etc.) are accepted. Upcycle USA will clean and wipe the devices and certify that they are properly wiped.

Acceptable equipment includes computers, desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, servers, towers, tablets, iPads, smart phones (Apple/Android), printers, chargers, cables, computer accessories, copy machines, DVDs, fax machines, hard drives, iPods, keyboards, medical and testing equipment, memory cards, mice, modems, networking equipment, office phones, projectors, routers, scanners, speakers, switches, TVs/flat screen monitors, tape drives, toner cartridges, VCRs, video cards and UPS batteries. Appliances, including air conditioners, are not accepted.
