A group of Northwest Philadelphia residents traveled to Philipsburg, Pa., to take part in a June 18 “Love Thy Neighbor” multi-faith vigil to protest conditions and demand closure of the Moshannon Processing Center. The largest immigrant detention center in the northeast, Moshannon currently houses some 1,800 immigrants. The vigil was organized by the Live Free Philly Coalition and included faith leaders and congregants from different religious organizations as well as singers from Voices Rising Philly.
