She is wrong. While I can’t tell whether she is misinformed or flat-out deceptive, her statement is false.
Pam DeLissio’s letter in last week’s Chestnut Hill Local calls for a response. In her letter she slips in sideways a claim that I am “more than a volunteer” for Tarik Khan. She said that I am Tarik’s “campaign chair.”
She is wrong. While I can’t tell whether she is misinformed or flat-out deceptive, her statement is false. I have served only as a volunteer helping to canvass and raise money. When Pam DeLissio was the best candidate for the job in the past, I did the same kind of volunteer work for her.
But now we have a stellar new entrant in Northwest Philadelphia politics. Tarik Khan is without a doubt the best person for the job. I agreed to serve as chair of Tarik’s PAC when the campaign started, and my only duties were in the establishment of that PAC. That’s it. I have no role in the management of his campaign.
As for Patrick Baeringer’s question, it was polite, but it was notably unethical and unprofessional coming from a campaign manager. More to the point, some of DeLissio’s other followers made loaded comments that barely qualified as questions. I hope this discussion ends here, and I will look forward to working once again with those who hold higher standards.
