Krail Sibson Brooks of Penn Valley, and longtime resident of Germantown, Laverock and Chestnut Hill, died in Philadelphia June 2025. Daughter of Walter Woodhouse Sibson and Mary Elizabeth Smith, Krail attended High School at Friends Central, the University of Denver for her BA, and Temple University for her Masters in Social Work, going on to work at the Red Cross, Planned Parenthood, Educating Children for Parenting, and Big Sisters of Philadelphia. She dedicated her working life to the care of people in the world around her.
Krail was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kirk, and her beloved husband Steve, and is survived by her son Reed Brooks (Marissa), her loving grandchildren, Lucy and Henry, and her devoted companion animal, Ollie. She is also survived by cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and so many friends – some lifelong and others met in recent years through her hobbies and community.
Krail was a lover of theater, classical music, gardening, and art. She enjoyed attending games of mahjong and canasta, gym days with her usual group, book club meetings, and trips near and far to see and experience museums, architecture, and good food. She was never afraid to learn or try something new. She was dependable, practical, loyal, and kind. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations Krail’s name can be made to Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania https://www.
