Local author Josh Hitchens will lead an in-person discussion of Charles Dickens’ “Hard Times,” at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion, 200 W. Tulpehocken St. in Germantown. Dickens’ 1854 novel tells a powerful story about honoring the value of the human heart in an age of materialism and social injustice. The gathering is hosted by the Victorian Book Club.
