Friends of the Wissahickon will outline plans to improve park conservation and water quality at its annual public projects meeting Jan. 29.
Executive Director Ruffian Tittmann and Project Manager Pauline Berkowitz will highlight accomplishments from the organization's centennial year, including the completion of a $3.5 million restoration and bridge project at Valley Green Run.
Updates will cover the ongoing Germantown Neighborhood Connection and Pachella Gully restoration projects, undertaken with city parks and water departments.

Field Stewardship Director Shawn Green will discuss volunteer achievements and plans to expand internships for Philadelphia high school students. City transportation officials will present findings on improving pedestrian and cyclist safety along Walnut Lane.
