On Friday October 2nd at 7:30pm, Saint Paul’s will launch the fifth season of its Five Fridays concert series with a recital by talented young cellist Gabriel Cabezas, accompanied by Charles Abramovic.
The series offers five excellent short concerts each season, featuring rising stars of the local music scene. The concerts are primarily classical in genre, but range from traditional string trios to saxophone quartets, trumpeters, and Celtic ensembles. The audience is seated close to the players, around the candle-lit labyrinth in Saint Paul’s beautiful sanctuary, providing an intimate perspective not commonly found in a concert. A post-performance reception gives the opportunity to greet the performers and other concert-goers.
Thanks to generous local sponsors, all net proceeds benefit two local organizations dedicated to fighting hunger and homelessness in our neighborhood: Face-to-Face Germantown and the Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network. Season passes (general and student/senior rates) are available now, and entitle the holder to all five concerts for the price of four. Tickets are available online or at the door.
