Police are investigating a fatal drowning that occurred on Friday, April 17, in Wissahickon Valley Park.
In the early evening, officers responded to a call at Devil’s Pool, the popular yet prohibited swimming hole located in the park.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, an adult man, unresponsive, having been pulled from the water by bystanders.
According to police, witnesses reported that the victim had been swimming in the creek when he became distressed and submerged. Bystanders located the man and performed CPR until emergency medical services arrived.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 7 p.m.
