‘Embrace The Local’

Posted

Editor’s note:  This letter is in response to John Derr and Joel Barras, whose editorials about the importance of community support for The Local appeared in the paper on Oct. 12.

We have lived in this community for almost 50 years. In that time, we’ve always had the Local delivered to our door. There are few things that actually build community… local youth sports programs do that, our diner used to do that, the Local does that.

We urge everyone in the Northwest community to embrace the Local by subscribing, advertising, donating and, of course, reading. Our beloved Inquirer wouldn’t remain the local institution it is if it wasn’t for the Lenfest Foundation. So when you think of your philanthropy, please add the Local to your list. Its continued existence means so much. John and Joel are right.
