Schuylkill Center schedules classes, camp
The Schuylkill Center in Roxborough is offering a variety of educational experiences, all designed to foster a love and appreciation for the natural world. Registration is open now for several programs.
Among them are the Sprouts program, for children ages 18 months to age 3. Together with a favorite grown-up, Sprouts discover and explore the wonders of nature through sensory-focused classes. The program features walks, art, music, and stories, all designed to help children grow their roots in nature-based learning. Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required at schuylkillcenter.org, as there are a limited number of spots available. Families can sign up for one class or the entire series. Tuesday classes run until June 2. Thursday classes run until June 4. There are no classes on March 31 or April 2.
Registration also is open for the center’s summer program, Camp Schuylkill, for kids ages 4-13. Educators will guide campers through forests, streams, and ponds, encouraging discovery and a lifelong connection with nature. Register before Feb. 1 for the early-bird discount.
