The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period between November 1 to November 8. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.
Nov 2 Assault, Rape. A female arrived at a hospital in the 8800 block of Germantown Ave. and reported she had been sexually assaulted. It was unclear where the incident occurred.
Nov 2 Theft from Auto. The rear driver-side window was broken on a car parked in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of W. Moreland Ave. Items removed include a wallet, cards, AirPods and sunglasses. Total estimated value $620.
Nov 2 Theft from Auto. The rear passenger-side window was broken on an SUV parked in the 8400 block of Anderson St. Removed items include a bag of tools; an impact driver; a drill; nailgun; cordless circular saw; and other items. Estimated value $1,960.
Nov 2 Theft from Auto. The rear passenger-side window was broken on an SUV parked in the 8400 block of Anderson St. Removed items include two hoodies, a backpack and sleeping bag. Estimated value $250.
Nov 3 Theft from Auto. The rear window was broken on three vehicles parked at W. Bells Mill Rd at the Orange Trail. Items taken from the first car valued at $1,000; from the second and third cars, $1,500 each.
April 30 2020 Theft. A woman in the 7700 block of Cherokee St., unable to access her guest room because of a mobility issue, recently discovered that items had been taken from the room since the last time she could check. She believes a healthcare aide is most likely. Items removed include a painting, Staring Contest, valued at $350, and a framed autograph of Nikola Tesla valued at $10,000.
Nov 1 Theft. A man reported one of the people who came to his house to watch the Eagles game stole his phone, with a cardholder on the back. A card was used to withdraw $850. Estimated total value $950.
Nov 2 Theft from Auto. An unknown offender attempted to cut a catalytic converter off a car parked in the 6300 block of Ardleigh St. The car was damaged.
Nov 3 Theft from Auto. The window was broken on a car parked in a Wissahickon Park lot at Valley Green RD and Wolcott Dr. Items removed include 3 purses, cards, and $100 cash.
Nov 4 Theft from Auto. The passenger window was broken on a car parked at W. Hortter St. and Park Line Dr. Items removed include a backpack, gym shoes, wallet, cards, and $200 cash.
Nov 4 Theft from Auto. The rear passenger-side window was broken on a car parked on Valley Green Rd. Items removed include a gray bookbag, two laptops, iPad, two phones, ear buds, AirPods, car keys, purse, and cards. Estimated value $5.850. A credit card was used at a nearby pharmacy but declined.
Nov 6 Theft from Auto. A woman returned from a hike in the Wissahickon to discover the rear windshield was broken on her car, parked in the 700 block of Wolcott Dr. Her purse was missing, containing cards, phone and $50 cash.
