The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from July 18 to July 25. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

July 15 Theft. A complainant reported her bike being stolen from her property on the 8300 block of Anderson Street.

July 18 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Wissahickon Avenue and Kitchens Lane. A purse and bank card were stolen.

July 18 Theft. An employee for a moving company that was working on the 600 block of Gate House Lane stole a vacuum, which was later returned. Another employee broke a bottle of tequila he knocked to the ground.

July 19 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. Various credit cards and approximately $300 were stolen.

July 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed while parked on the unit block of West Evergreen Avenue. An Apple Watch was stolen.

July 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed while parked on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike. An bracelet was stolen.

July 20 Burglary. A complainant reported having her ransacked while parked on the 200 block of West Evergreen Avenue. Nothing was stolen.

July 20 Theft. A complainant who left her cell phone at the check out register of a business located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue returned to find it missing.

July 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked on the 800 block of Winston Road. The back seat and speakers were stolen.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Bells Mill Road and Orange Trail. An iPhone was stolen.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Bells Mill Road and Orange Trail. A bag was stolen.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. Four complainants reported having their car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. Wallets and credit cards were stolen.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having their car window smashed while parked on the 8500 block of Navajo Street with items stolen from inside.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having items stolen from two vehicles parked on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike with items, including a backpack and headphones, stolen from inside.

July 21 Destruction of property. A complainant reported having their car window smashed while parked on the unit block of Summit Street although nothing was stolen.

July 22 Destruction of property. A complainant reported having their car window smashed while parked on the unit block of Summit Street although nothing was stolen.

 

Mt. Airy

July 4 Theft. A complainant left his wallet on the counter of a deli near the corner of Chew Avenue and East Sharpnack Street. When he returned, the wallet was gone.

July 14 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant who parked on the 7300 block of Germantown Avenue reported having their catalytic converter stolen.

July 15 Theft. When a complainant who had been incarcerated returned to her apartment, she could not find the belongings she gave her landlord permission to box up.

July 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported $200 worth of change being stolen from the center console of her car while it was parked on the 7100 block of Crittenden Street.

July 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked on the 7500 block of Germantown Avenue had his car rummaged through and a car charger stolen.

July 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked his car on the unit block of Roumfort Road had it rummaged through. Three watches and a knife were stolen.

July 18 Theft. A complainant reported a package that was delivered to his house, located on the 500 block of East Allens Lane, was stolen before he could retrieve it.

July 18 Theft. A complainant reported his electric bike being stolen from his garage on the 400 block of East Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

July 19 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked on the 800 block of Wolcott Drive had her car forced into and items, including a purse and credit cards, stolen.

July 21 Aggravated assault, destruction of property. A complainant reported that an intimate partner of hers strangled her, bit her, pointed a gun at her and broke the rear window of her car. The incident took place on the 7100 block of Boyer Street.

July 21 Aggravated assault. A complainant who knocked on the door of a residence on the 7500 block of Devon Street had his hand cut when the offender answered the door wielding a knife.

July 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having their car window smashed at the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Scotforth Road and Kitchens Lane. A purse was stolen.

July 23 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having items, including bank cards and a green card, stolen from a vehicle parked on the corner of West Mt. Airy Avenue and Wayne Avenue. The window was smashed.
