The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from April 11 to 17. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

April 11 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the wheels being stolen off his car while it was parked on the 700 block of Wolcott Drive. 

April 12 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the wheels being stolen off his car while it was parked on the 700 block of Wolcott Drive. 

April 14 Theft from auto. Two complainants reported their car windows having been smashed near the Wissahickon Park parking lot on Valley Green Road with items, including bags and credit cards, being stolen.

April 15 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the 7900 block of Stenton Avenue. 

April 17 Theft from auto. A complainant reported his car windows having been smashed near the Wissahickon Park parking lot on Valley Green Road with items, including cash and credit cards, stolen.

Mt. Airy

Jan 15 Theft. A complainant reported his black Schwinn bicycle was stolen from his backyard on the 800 block of W. Sedgwick Street.

April 9 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the unit block of East Mt. Pleasant Avenue. 

April 11 Burglary. A resident at an assisted living apartment located on the 6900 block of Germantown Avenue reported returning home from a doctor’s appointment to find four sets of hair clippers missing from his bathroom. 

April 13 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the unit block of East Mt. Pleasant Avenue. 

April 14 Theft. A complainant stated that her landlord had maintenance workers at her house doing repairs when she noticed one of them carrying her son’s backpack in a plastic bag.

April 15 Vandalism of property. A complainant reported his car having been spray-painted with the words “f— you” and “cheater.” A window was also broken. interior seats had been punctured and a gym bag and sneakers were taken. The complainant told police he’s not in any relationship with and doesn’t know who could have done this.
