Crime Report: 5 thefts from auto, 7 other thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period between July 26 to August 1. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

July 26 Theft from auto. While parked at Forbidden Lane off E. Bells Mill Road, the front passenger window was broken. $2.00 was stolen.

July 28 Theft.  On the 8000 block of Germantown Ave., a purse was stolen.  Crad was used to withdraw $800 from her bank account.

Mt. Airy

July 26 Theft. $55.00 worth of merchandise were taken from a supermarket in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue.

July 26 Theft. Items taken from a storage locker in an apartment building in the 100 block of W. Tulpehocken St.  Light fixtures, valued at $330 total.

July 27 Intimidation. Along 7000 Lincoln Drive, a road rage incident lead to threats with a knife. The other party was an off-duty police officer, who called 911. Assailant was arrested.

July 27 Theft from auto. A car parked on the 60 block of Valley Green Road had a broken passenger window. Gift bags valued at $500 were taken.

July 27  Theft from auto. A car parked on the first block of Valley Green Road had a broken passenger window. A handbag was stolen containing credit and debit cards and $500 in cash.

July 27 Theft. Fedex delivery of an iPhone was stolen from a residence on the 7300 block of Devon St. Someone might have signed for it fraudulently.

July 28 Theft from auto. Tags were removed from a car at a repair shop on Meehan Ave.

July 29 Theft. A woman reported her guitar was taken without her permission from a restaurant on the 7100 block of Germantown Ave.

July 29 Theft. A woman reported her phone was taken by a friend during an argument on the 7100 block of Germantown Ave.

July 31 Theft. On the 140 block of W. Allens Lane, a woman left items outside her apartment while she went to the building’s mail box. When she returned, the items were gone, including a sweater.

July 31 Theft from auto. Returning to his car parked at Park Line Drive and W. Hortter St., a man found the front passenger window broken. A woman also parked at the same location reported her car’s rear passenger window broken. Debit and credit cards and a phone were missing.
