Crime Report: 4 bikes stolen, home robberies while away

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period between July 11 to June 18. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

July 16 Theft. While shopping ta 8200 Germantown Ave., wallet and other items stolen from a baby stroller, valued at $500.

Mt. Airy

June 18 Fraud, theft from auto. Temporary tags taken from car parked outside 61 E. Phil Ellena St. Owner now receiving tickets.

July 10 Auto theft. A woman returned from vacation to find her car was stolen. Parked at 26 E. Hortter St.

July 11 Robbery. A woman returned from a trip and found her apartment at 330 W. John St. had been burglarized.

July 11 Bike theft. A bike chained outside apartment at 259 W. Johnson St. was stolen. Valued at $500.

July 11 Dognapping. A man lost his keys and the next day his pitbull was taken from his apartment in the 200 block of E. Cliveden,

July 11 Bike theft. Two $800 bike stolen outside 417 E. Sedgwick St.

July 12 Robbery. A man returned from work to find his illegal entry using a stolen spare key. Items removed included a $7,800 watch, a Mac laptop valued at $1,000, and an $800 iPad.

July 12 Auto theft. A car parked at 7650 Crittenden St.

July 13 Theft from auto. A car was left unlocked at a gas station at 6240 Germantown Ave. Several items taken.

July 13 Auto theft. A man left his car unattended at a store at Tulpehocken and Baynton Sts. And also left the spare key in the car.

July 14 Bike Theft. A chained bike stolen from porch, 500 block of W. Sedgwick St. The owner did not have any registration information.

July 15 Theft from auto, fraud. A women returned from a hike and discovered her car, parked at Wissahickon Ave. and Kitchens Lane, with a broken front passenger window broken. Her phone was stolen and $850 was charged to her debit card.

July 16 Theft from auto. Front passenger window broken at 6400 Park Line Drive. Purse valued at $300, iPhone, and several credit cards, which were used at pharmacies.

July 16 Theft. A man arrested shoplifting in a supermarket at 7010 Germantown Ave.

July 16 Theft. An employee was fired for stealing merchandise, a convenience store on the 7200 block of Germantown Ave.

July 17 Assault. A woman reported her boyfriend tried to strangle her in her residence on E. Gorgas Lane.

July 18 Theft from auto. A woman parked at W. Upsal and Park Line Drive returned to find rear passenger window broken and property stolen.

July 18 Assault. Near Chew Ave. and E. Mt. Pleasant, an argument escalated and a woman threatened another woman with a gun.
