The following is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Feb. 5 to 11. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.) 

Chestnut Hill:

Feb. 4 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man returned to his car, which was parked on the 7600 block of Ardleigh Street, to find one of his tires missing. 

Feb. 4 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man returned to his car, which was parked on the 8200 block of Ardleigh Street, to find his license plate missing. 

Feb. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car, which was parked in the Wissahickon parking lot on Bells Mill Road, to find her window smashed. Her purse was stolen from inside.

Feb. 5 Theft. A woman reported having a package stolen from her home, located on the 100 block of East Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Feb. 7 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car, which was parked in the Wissahickon parking lot on Valley Green Road, to find her window smashed. Her purse and AirPods were stolen from inside.

Feb. 7 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car, which was parked in the Wissahickon parking lot on Valley Green Road, to find her window smashed. Cash was stolen from inside.

Feb. 7 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man returned to his car, which was parked on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street, to find his front license plate missing. 

Feb. 8 Shoplifting. An offender was witnessed leaving the wine and spirits store, located on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, with tequila they did not purchase. 

Feb. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car, which was parked in the Wissahickon parking lot near the corner of Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive, to find her window smashed. A bag with credit cards was stolen from inside.

Feb. 11 Shoplifting. An offender was witnessed leaving the wine and spirits store, located on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, with tequila they did not purchase.

Mt. Airy:

Jan. 23 Theft. A woman gave her ex a key to her house, located on the 6600 block of McCallum Street, to gather his things. When she returned, clothes, makeup and her AirPod were missing. 

Jan. 29 Theft. A representative from C.W. Henry School, located on the 600 block of Carpenter Lane, reported that an unknown person entered the nurse’s office and stole medication from the medicine cabinet. 

Jan. 31 Theft. A complainant reported having a package stolen from their home, located on the 600 block of Wadsworth Avenue.

Feb. 2 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her car window having been smashed while parked on the 6400 block of Greene Street. The steering column was broken and the driver’s side key lock was ripped out of the car.

Feb. 6 Burglary. A contractor working on the 200 block of East Hortter Street returned to the job site to find the locks changed despite his equipment being inside.

Feb. 6 Motor vehicle theft. A woman’s car had its windows shattered while parked on the 6700 block of Emlen Street. The steering column had been tampered with.

Feb. 7 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man returned to his car, which was parked on the 300 block of East Cliveden Street, to find his license plate missing. 

Feb. 7 Shoplifting. An offender was witnessed leaving the Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, with milk and potato chips they did not pay  purchase.

Feb. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 300 block of Johnson Street.

Feb. 8 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 6400 block of Greene Street.

Feb. 9 Burglary. A woman reported items in her foyer going missing while she was at work. Her house is on the unit block of West Allens Lane.
