The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from May 29 - June 4. 

Chestnut Hill

May 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on West Northwestern Street had their windows broken. Jumper cables were stolen from the vehicle. 

May 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked in the Chestnut Hill Academy parking lot, located on the 500 block of West Willow Grove Avenue, had their windows broken. A backpack and credit cards were stolen from the vehicle. 

May 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A man who parked near the intersection of West Willow Grove Avenue and St. Martin’s Lane had his windows broken. Credit cards, cash and an iPhone were stolen from the vehicle. 

May 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on East Northwestern Street had their windows broken. A wallet with cash and credit cards was stolen from the vehicle. 

May 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road had their windows broken. A purse with cash and credit cards was stolen from the vehicle. 

June 2 Shoplifting. An employee at the Windfall Gallery, located on the 8400 block of Germantown Avenue, reported a man stealing six T-shirts from the store. 

June 3 Shoplifting. An offender stole multiple items from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, including batteries and razors.

June 3 Shoplifting. An offender stole multiple items from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, including healthcare products.

June 4 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing an offender leave the Acme on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue with food they did not pay for. 

Mt. Airy 

May 28 Theft. A complainant reported that their son stole a lock and legal documents from their house, located on the 300 block of East Sharpnack Street.

May 29 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing from the 600 block of East Sedgwick Street.

May 29 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing an offender leave the Acme on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue with merchandise they did not pay for. 

May 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman who parked her car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by the intersection of Hortter Street and Park Line Drive reported having her car window smashed. Her purse was stolen.

May 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by the intersection of Park Line Drive and West Upsal Street reported having their car window smashed. A purse, a bookbag and cash was stolen.

May 30 Shoplifting. An employee at the Wawa located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue said the store was raided by approximately 15-20 kids aged between 12 and 14 who stole various food items in the store. 

May 30 Robbery. A man had his keys stolen on the 300 block of Upsal Street after being pepper sprayed and struck with an unknown object. 

May 30 Theft/Vandalism. The side window of Nostalgic Eye Care, located on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue, was broken. Ten pairs of Gucci sunglasses were stolen. 

May 31 Shoplifting. An employee at the Wawa located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue said a man left the store with candy he did not pay for. 

June 1 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant’s car went missing from the 300 block of East Cliveden Street.

June 2 Theft. A complainant reported a motorcycle being stolen from their residence, located on the unit block of West Upsal Street.

June 3 Motor vehicle theft. A man had his car stolen from the 200 block of East Johnson Street.

June 3 Motor vehicle theft. A man had his car stolen from the 200 block of West Johnson Street.

June 3 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car window and steering column were broken while the car was parked on the 200 block of East Sedgwick Street.

June 3 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant told police that three males tried unsuccessfully to steal their vehicle, which was parked on the unit block of West Hortter Street. The males then fled. 

June 3 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing from the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue.

June 3 A woman reported that someone broke the window and steering column on her car, which was parked on the 6400 block of Lensen Street.

June 4 A complainant reported having clothes stolen from their house, which is located on the 300 block of East Upsal Street.
