The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 24-31. 

Chestnut Hill

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported a savings bond being stolen from their car on the unit block of West Mermaid Lane after she left her car unlocked.

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported $40 in cash being stolen from their car on the 9000 block of Crefeld Street after they left their car unlocked.

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked at Chestnut Hill Hospital, located on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue, had two iPhones stolen from her car.

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car on the 100 block of West Gravers Lane reported having it rummaged through, but nothing was taken.

Oct. 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant had their window shattered after they parked their car near Wissahickon Trail entrance by the corner of Wolcott Drive and Valley Green Road. Credit cards and a wallet were stolen. 

Oct. 25 Theft. A complainant reported having the locks on four of his bikes stolen from his property on the 300 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. 

Mt. Airy 

Sept. 24 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported that he let his daughter borrow his car for two days and that she refuses to give it back. 

Oct. 23 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car going missing from the 100 block of West Gorgas Lane.

Oct. 24 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant awoke to find her car missing from where she parked it, which was the 7200 block of Crittenden Street.

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported $40 in cash being stolen from their car on the 500 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue.

Oct. 25 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car having been broken into at the corner of Crittenden Street and East Allens Lane and the stealing column tampered with. 

Oct. 25 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car going missing from the 500 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue. 

Oct. 25 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who left their car running on the 100 block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue had it stolen. 

Oct. 26 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his work phone, cash and clothes being stolen from his car, which was parked on the unit block of East Hortter Street.

Oct. 28 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported an unknown person breaking into their house and stealing a laptop and car keys. The offender then stole the complainant’s car. There were no signs of forced entry. 

Oct. 29 Theft. A complainant who locked her bike on the 200 block of West Johnson Street returned to find her lock smashed and her bike missing.

Oct. 29 Aggravated assault. A complainant was beaten by three men who approached him while he was walking alone on the 300 block of East Sharpnack Street. The complainant was treated at Chestnut Hill Hospital.
