The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 9-16. 

Chestnut Hill

Oct. 9 Theft. A complainant reported a bicycle being stolen from a house on the unit block of West Highland Avenue. 

Oct. 10 Theft. from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car window smashed while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot near Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. A wallet and credit cards were taken.

Oct. 12 Theft. from motor vehicle. A complainant reported leaving her phone in her unlocked car, parked on the 100 block of West Highland Avenue. When she returned, the phone was gone. 

Oct. 13 Theft. from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car window smashed while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot near Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive. A phone, cash and credit cards were taken.

Mt. Airy 

Oct. 10 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender filling two bags worth of merchandise at the CVS on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive and leaving the store without paying.

Oct. 10 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender filling a bag of merchandise that included shampoo and conditioner at the Rite Aid on the 6200 block of Germantown Avenue and leaving the store without paying.

Oct. 10 Theft. A complainant reported having her purse stolen from under her armpit in the parking lot of the CVS that’s located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive. The offender fled in an SUV. 

Oct. 10 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car going missing after parking it on the 100 block of East Johnson Street.

Oct. 10 Theft. A complainant noticed her firearm was missing after an argument with a man in her house, located on the 900 block of East Cliveden Street.

Oct. 10 Theft. A complainant reported chairs being stolen from his property on the unit block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Oct. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his registration and insurance card being stolen from his car while it was parked on the 6700 block of Cresheim Road. The window was smashed.

Oct. 12 Aggravated assault. A man was shot five times on the unit block of East Duval Street and transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center. He was listed in critical condition. 

Oct. 13 Theft from motor vehicle. A wallet, ID and credit cards were taken from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of West Durham Street.

Oct. 13 Murder. When police responded to a call about a person with a gun, they entered a residence on the 200 block of East Sharpnack Street to find a person suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Oct. 14 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant had the license plate stolen off his car while parked on the 6300 block of McCallum Street. 

Oct. 15 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car window smashed while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot near West Hortter Street. Cash and a purse were taken.
