In 2021, the CHCA Tree Fund supported improvements at Pastorius Park and the new Mermaid Park. We continued to educate you about Land Use Planning and Zoning through our Community Matters column in the Chestnut Hill Local. In the Fall, we spearheaded efforts to revitalize Jenks Elementary School’s library and community room and we partnered with local businesses to create a new and improved 2022 Passport to the Chestnut Hill Experience with over $1000 in free gifts and discounts!
As the convening RCO (registered community organization), the CHCA advocates to the city of Philadelphia on matters of planning and development. Last year was a very active one for the CHCA’s Development Review and Land Use, Planning, and Zoning committees as we worked with fellow RCO’s and civic organizations to ensure development takes place in a thoughtful and forward-thinking way. We have every indication that our work as the RCO will be as busy, if not busier, in 2022.
We are committed to encouraging and fostering a quality of life beneficial to everyone in our diverse community. The funds raised by the Annual Appeal help cover the costs of our community efforts and events, and the CHCA’s day-to-day operations. We have many exciting plans for 2022. More concerts! More movies! More gatherings of friends and neighbors! More children’s events! More seasonal celebrations! And more partnerships to support our community organizations, businesses, and residents.
If you’ve donated, we thank you very much. If you have not, I ask you to donate now and support the CHCA’s efforts to strengthen community in Chestnut Hill!
