The city and several partners are scheduling what’s being billed as Philadelphia’s largest housing fair on Sept. 26, with resources for homeowners, renters and landlords.

The Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation (PHDC) is the host agency at the free annual event, scheduled at Temple University, in cooperation with the city’s Department of Planning and Development, the Philadelphia Land Bank and others. In a news release, officials said it is part of Mayor Cherelle Parker’s H.O.M.E. Initiative by bringing all the city’s housing-related programs and services directly to residents.

The housing fair is designed to provide a one-stop shop for information and services for current homeowners, first-time homebuyers, renters, landlords and people interested in learning more about homeownership, property maintenance, development opportunities and other housing-related resources. With more than 100 exhibitors, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with mortgage lenders, city-funded housing counseling organizations, real estate professionals, insurance agents, contractors, homebuilders, representatives from various city departments, legal services organizations and other experts.

Homeowners and renters who need repairs to their homes can get help on the spot from PHDC to start the application process for two popular repair programs, the Basic Systems Repair Program and the Adaptive Modifications Program. PHDC also will offer information about the city’s “Turn the Key” initiative, which aims to increase affordable homeownership opportunities, support first-time homebuyers in building equity, and help families secure their financial future through homeownership.

The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Temple’s Student Training and Recreation (STAR) Complex, 1816 N. 15th St. For more information or to register, visit phdcphila.org/housingfair/.
