Music will play again from the amphitheater and ring throughout the evergreens at Pastorius Park this summer, thanks in part to Chestnut Hill Hospital’s $10,000 contribution to the Chestnut Hill Community Fund. The fund supports numerous cultural and educational programs in the community, including the free summer concert series at Pastorius Park.
“This is our 10th year sponsoring this special community event,” said Dr. John Cacciamani, CEO of Chestnut Hill Hospital. “Summertime in Chestnut Hill is associated with music in the park, and we’re proud to be part of this longstanding tradition. We support a healthy community and that includes time to celebrate together. That’s what we want people to be able to do on Wednesday nights. Grab a bite at one of our great restaurants or pack up picnic baskets and strollers and gather for an evening of relaxing entertainment under the stars. It’s just another way the hospital contributes to the well-being of the entire community.
“Of course, our first commitment to the community is to deliver quality health care at the hospital. We continue to bring the best of Philly health care to Chestnut Hill with the recent addition of Temple neurosurgery and thoracic surgery. They join our existing programs with Temple Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Jefferson Neuroscience and Penn Heart Rescue. In addition, our ER is serving more people than ever while our wait times remain some of the shortest in the area. Providing exceptional health care is how we truly demonstrate our commitment to the community.”
The Chestnut Hill Community Fund is currently accepting donations to reach the goal of $100,000. The fund supports programs and organizations that enhance living and working in our charming ‘suburb in the city.’ Started over 40 years ago, this charitable trust relies on community donations to sustain programs such as the Chestnut Hill Garden District, “Green” the Avenue, Hoops Madness, Children’s Park, Teenagers Inc., Holiday Parade and more.
The fund needs your donation to make these programs possible. Please donate today. Contribution deadline is March 31. You can make a contribution to the Fund Drive in person; by mail to CHCF at 8434 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia 19118, online at www.chestnuthill.org, or contact Noreen Spota at 215-248-8810.
