Ann Wuetig Jones

Ann Wuetig Jones died peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Foulkeways in Gwynedd, where she had lived since 2023. 

Born October 15, 1946 in Abington, Ann was the third child of Marjorie (McFerran) and Oliver Wuetig. She was raised in the greater Philadelphia area before moving to upstate New York. 

She graduated from Westminster College with a degree in social work and moved back to Philadelphia where she became secretary to the headmaster of Friends Select School. While there she met Philip Jones, who she married in 1981. Their son, Andrew, was born in 1985. Ann joined Germantown Friends School as secretary to the headmaster, a job she held until retiring in 2014. 

Ann was a gardener, a reader, an accomplished cook and baker, and a gracious hostess. She was very involved at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting, where she was a member for many years. 

She was predeceased by her parents; her brother John; and her husband Philip. Ann is survived by her son Andrew, of London, England; stepdaughter Meredith Tips-McLaine, son-in-law Michael McLaine, and grandson Frederick Tips-McLaine, all of Windham, Vermont; her sister Jennifer Michaelides, of Athens, Greece; her sister-in-law Terri Wuetig, of West Chester, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law Eleanor Jones and husband Charles Hoffman, of Philadelphia; and her nieces and nephews and their families.

There will be a memorial for Ann, with light refreshments to follow, on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting or Germantown Friends School.
