Spring donation drive at OMC

One person’s trash is another's treasure. Now is the time to collect your unwanted clothing and treasures to donate them to the needy in and around Philadelphia. Our Mother of Consolation (OMC) Church Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is sponsoring a clothing & household item collection on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Collections will be accepted in the church parking lot at 9 East Chestnut Hill Avenue (at the corner of Norwood and East Chestnut Hill Avenues) in Chestnut Hill. You can donate usable men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and household items in good condition. Clothing should be on hangers or neatly stored in bags. Shoes should be bound together. All items must be clean, repaired, and in good condition.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international, nonprofit charitable organization of lay Catholics serving those with material, emotional, and spiritual needs – regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation. Modeling St. Vincent de Paul’s compassion for the suffering of others, the society was founded in 1833 and dedicated to the mission of bringing concrete aid and the comfort of the Gospel to the needy and suffering.

The society serves the poor and needy throughout Philadelphia.  Please help support the mission of SVDP by bringing your clothing and household items donations. Tax deductible and receipts will be provided.  For more information on the Clothing Collection or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, please contact OMC at 215-247-0430.
