    They started around three summers ago. There were the bustling summer parties on the cul de sac at Kitchens Lane, which serves as an entrance to the 2,000-acre Wissahickon Valley Park.
    As a rule, smaller varietals like acorn, delicata, honeynut and even kabocha skins can be tender enough to eat. Others, especially bigger ones, have rinds that are too tough and stringy when cooked and are best to peel.
