Chestnut Hill is set to get another new food and drink establishment, as the Foodery will be arriving in the neighborhood later this year. The new business will be at 7829 Germantown Ave., the same spot formerly occupied by Towey’s Tavern, which closed in October.
Though the Foodery bought the bar in the same month, extensive renovations have caused any specific timeline for opening to be put on hold for now. General Manager Hope Corry expressed her hope that the new location would ultimately be open by the end of the summer.
“This initiative to come to Chestnut Hill was really from our owner, Jack Lee,” Corry said (Lee could not be reached for comment). “He knew how successful our most recent place in Phoenixville has been, and he also wanted to branch out by coming to a small town like this outside the main city.”
With locations in Roxborough, Phoenixville and Center City, the Foodery has been serving craft beer and custom sandwiches across Philadelphia since 1976. For more information, visit fooderybeer.com.
