Elda M. Buck, longtime resident

Elda Marcolina Buck, 80, a longtime Chestnut Hill resident who had worked at several shops in the community, died July 16, 2014, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.

Mrs. Buck had lived in Chestnut Hill for 77 years, from 1933 – the year she was born – until 2010, when she and her husband, Jim, moved to The Villages of Flowers Mill, a retirement community in Langhorne.

Among the Chestnut Hill businesses where Mrs. Buck had worked were Kilian's Hardware, Chestnut Hair, Gabriel's Beauty Salon, Auritt's Sporting Goods, Caruso Market, Joseph Condello and Son and Mes Enfant Boutique.

She retired in 2000 as secretary to the head of the chemistry department at Drexel University.

She was a member of Our Mother of Consolation Church and the Venetian Club Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Buck is survived by sons Gregory and Jeffrey; a brother, Peter; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Newtown, with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
