Quasym Finch, 22, of the 7600 block of Ardleigh Street, was arrested May 24 and charged with attempted murder, robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses.
According to police, at 3:35 p.m. on April 25, Finch and another man met with two men, ages 32 and 31, on the 3700 block of North 5th Street, after one of the men listed a dirt bike for sale on Craigslist.
Police said Finch attempted to start the dirt bike and then pulled a handgun pointing it at one of the men. A struggle ensued, and the man with Finch yelled “shoot him,” police said. Finch allegedly fired once, shooting the man in the chest before fleeing on the dirt bike with his alleged accomplish. The victim was transported to Temple Hospital for surgery and was listed in critical condition.
Finch, who has prior convictions for drug possession, disorderly conduct, fleeing from police, and recklessly endangering another person, is currently being held in Philadelphia County, according to police records.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on June 10.
