On the first day of spring, a crew of volunteers worked at the Water Tower to help prepare the park for warmer days ahead. The event was hosted by the Water Tower Advisory County in collaboration with the Chestnut Hill Community Association. Volunteers had worked previously to clear numerous dead trees and shrubs and a recent grant distributed through the Community Association has paid to enhance the area with new plantings of healthy trees and shrubs. Saturday’s efforts kick off the new season where plans are underway to make this area even more inviting to the many who visit each day. Community members are invited to the next Water Tower Volunteer Day on Saturday April 24, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
