After a year of Zoom meetings, The Outdoor Gardeners were able to recognize some of their members in person at the Garden Club Federation of PA District XI annual luncheon at Cedarbrook Country Club, September 14. Laurel Awards to Patti Wilson and Paula MacRae for their support of the garden club. Liz Snowdon won the District “Forget- Me-Not Award” for outstanding service since 2002 to the club, the GCFP, the judges and the community.
The Outdoor Gardeners have been a non-profit garden club in Chestnut Hill and surrounding communities since 1957, with fifty members at present. They meet at The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill at noon on the first Thursday of the month, though last year all meetings were via Zoom. The luncheon was one of their first opportunities to gather in person again.
Their next meeting at Presbyterian Church, 8855 Germantown Ave., will be noon, October 7, with guest Courtney Jewell from Blooms Urban Flower Farm and Design Studio. For information on activities or membership visit theoutdoorgardeners.org.
