Charlotte Hodgson of Penn Charter School has been named to the 2021 USA Select U18 team, chosen as one of 22 of the nation’s top high school girls’ lacrosse players.
The players were selected following a national combine at USA Lacrosse headquarters earlier this month that included more than 160 candidates. The USA Select teams will compete against international competition during the Brogden Cup in mid-October. The event is run in conjunction with the Fall Classic, which features the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams.
“We had a tremendous pool of players competing in our National Team Development Program this year,” said Natalie Wills, senior manager of the National Team Development Program. “Our coaches and evaluators had a difficult task in naming these teams, but we’re excited to recognize these talented players and continue to work with them.”
Hodgson has played for the Big 4 HHH lacrosse club. Other players from the area include Maggie Golder, Pennsbury (Ultimate Club); Paris Masaracchia, Bishop Shanahan (PA Express); Kiley Mottice, Archbishop Carroll (Phantastix); and Annabella Schafer, The Hill School in Pottstown (the NXT club) to the U16 team.
