The Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has received an $80,591.05 grant  from the Arthur E. Pflaumer Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation.

The Montgomery County SPCA, at 19 E. Ridge Pike in Conshohockenh, shelters animals, with two veterinarians on staff to provide spaying, neutering, and other medical veterinary support. The SPCA also provides humane education and pet therapy programs to over 12,00 residents annually. They employ three Humane Society Police Officers to investigate animal cruelty.

Carmen J. Ronio, Exceutive Director of the SPCA, said the grant will be used to support general operating costs.

The Philadelphia Foundation (philafund.org) was founded in 1918 and supports more than 900 charitable funds established by donors, making over 1,000 grants and scholarship awards each year. As publicly supported foundation, the organization “advances civic initiatives through partnerships and collaboration.”
